Title: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse gear Post by waynem325 on Jun 6th, 2005, 5:37pm Can anyone please tell me if the above function is standard with the '95 24v Ultima. I've checked the main Scorpio site and it doesn't mention it on the earlier models. Am I just having a case of wishful thinking....? If not is there a mod available or could anyone tell me the parts needed to convert mine. TIA :) Wayne |

Title: Re: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse Post by Simmo on Jun 6th, 2005, 8:36pm I have a 95 Ultima estate and it is certainly fitted to mine.Could the problem be a wiring, switch or relay type fault. Hopefully one of the Senior guys will have some info. |

Title: Re: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse Post by waynem325 on Jun 6th, 2005, 9:16pm Cheers Simmo, I haven't actually got the car yet-I pick it up (hopefully) tomorrow but on the test drive I never checked the mirror when reversing. I've been waiting 10 days to collect the car so its given me a little time to check what should be standard on the car.....and plan things like mods etc that may be required once I get it. Glad to hear it is though-I'm even more chuffed now. TA ;D |

Title: Re: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse Post by Simmo on Jun 7th, 2005, 4:56am Good luck with the car. As for whats fitted thats just about everything!. If you are in to DVD screens etc there is a wealth of expertise on this site and amongst it members. My advice would be if you have a problem or query 'try here first'. Keep an eye on the 'meetings' page for 'meets' as there is one held regularly in your part of the world. |

Title: Re: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse Post by waynem325 on Jun 8th, 2005, 5:30pm didn't realise you could actually set the position of the mirror when in reverse? Not to worry though-I've just bought a 98 2.3 Ultima estate instead and thats got it an works a treat!!!! Might have to have a fiddle with it now ;D |

Title: Re: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse Post by WAYNE on Jun 9th, 2005, 9:29pm Hi Martin Could you please explain more on the tilting mirror memory whilst in reverse, as I have a '98 Ultima Cosworth and the mirror doesn't tilt when reverse is selected but still moves up,down, left, right when drivers door mirror switch is operated. Regards Wayne |

Title: Re: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse Post by Cosray - The Hague - Holland on Jul 4th, 2005, 2:55pm Maybe this helps. My first 24v Cosworth was a new, June '98 (the last built Scorpio Cosworth ever) that did NOT have a in reverse tilting mirror on the passengerside. Mirrors were fully adjustable by the driversside joystick, as they should be on earlier models. BTW: this article is not lit, neither on '98 nor on '95. In fact this identical, non-lit part is used on my wife's Twingo. My current '95 Cosworth has a tilting passengerside mirror when the Autobox is in reverse. The mirror positions are not remembered though using the 1-2-3 memory driverdoor buttons. Does anyone know if they should? Ray |

Title: Re: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse Post by Highlander on May 12th, 2006, 7:17am Ray is that genuinely the last one made? Over the past couple of years I must have seen upwards of half a dozen advertised as "the last one ever made" would be interesting to find out |

Easiest way is to set mirror position while in reverse to the position you require ....in your case the same position as for normal driving. |

Title: Re: Nearside door mirror tilt function in reverse Post by Baz on May 12th, 2006, 8:35am The red S reg I sold had a build date of 17th June 1998 according to the Ford database.....the one I have now is 28th May 1998 There has been one on here a while ago with a later build date than my red one but you have to assume that they weren't making tens of thousands of these in june 98 knowing that production was to finish in June!! so maybe my red one might have been the 2nd to last one ever built!! who knows? we can only tell when we get the VIN numbers to check! |

Let me tell you. My dealer at the time in Katwijk, Holland showed me the bill, the delivery note of the brandnew car and the correspondence and said: "Your vehicle is # 49 of the last 50 ever to be produced of this car." Delivery took place on June 11th, 1998: I just checked my diary... So maybe not the very very very last, but a close enough decent last... |

Mine remembers three different sets of mirror positions, along with the three seat positions. I have only just worked out how to get the remote to call up one of the three memories -to move seat and mirrors. |
