I like your final comment in the repair page.
I have written to FMC Europe twice regarding the failure of these mirrors  but to date have NOT received any reply.

I live in hope.!!!!!!!!

I assume you intend to live till you are 200! but they may have gone bust by then.

Please note that the mirror support seat, once the cover is slid of, actually slides up and down over a V-shaped clamp, which is glued to the windscreen. Pulling it towards you will not work; one must slide it upwards or downwards along the windscreen plane to release it without damage danger.
Mounting it means sliding it upwards along the clamp until it 'clicks' in.

BTW: light intensity is measured coming from the car's front AND back, using two light sensors. The backward looking sensor, left of the on/off AUTO switch position, deals with nearing headlights from the rear. The front sensor measures general light levels.

my mirror works just fine, but has been loose ever since i had a new screen. i can slide it on and off but definitely doesn`t "click" into place. just seems to hang there supported by friction alone. gradually sliding down all the time. dead annopying.
