Title: Auto Transmission cooler
Post by mr._floppy on Jul 13th, 2005, 3:56pm
I've noticed a  leak  at the  cooler/radiator  for the Auto transmissionat the front of the engine bay.   At first glance  it seems not too taxing   to  replace.

Can I foresee any problems  with air locks when  the new radiator is fitted, connected up  and  refilled?

There are 2, one is a dedicated cooler at the bottom of the rad, the other is the rad/cooler on the side of the rad.
Rad is a doddle to change, i just ran mine for 10 mins with the cap loose to bleed.

The cooler is an easy change if you have a new one, the bottom connector is the one that gets done in by the salt on the raos so thake your time. If yoy have any slack in the rubber pipes its easier to cut them off and use the new end on the cooler

best of luck

nic

The pipes I've been protecting with grease but it never occured to me that the  cooler would spring a leak :-/

Autobox  Cooler:    Ford Part No. 7198316,       Cost £154.27.
