Title: One piece fog and indicator.
Post by janspeed on Aug 2nd, 2005, 5:59pm
:)
Hi, why does my Scorp have one piece fog and indicator lenses?
Ok i`ve figured out why even tho mine is a face lift it doesn`t have the face lift bumper, (probably had a bump at some stage and the bumper was replaced with a pre face lift one.)
But i didn`t know that the Scorp`s were fitted with one piece lenses for the fog and indicator.

I was thinking along the same lines... that the one-piece jobbies are indictors only (false fog light).   ???

MMM. May be.
I will check tomorrow.
So  should there be 2 switches on the dash?
1 for the front fogs and 1 for the rear, there was in a Rangy i used to own. mine only has the one. the one where you pull on the light switch.

Jay, its all done on the same switch.

Switching to the side does the headlights, pulling out one notch gives you front fogs (and a green light). Then pull it to a second notch for the rear fogs (and a yellow light).

:)
Cheers Paul.
Just had a quick look at the fogs/indicators on mine while putting the wheelie bin out, and yep its a blank, just a shiney bit behind the lens, no bulb.
So looks like i`ve got a bit of swapping and wiring to do when i pick up this other Scorp.
Is it a straight forward job to do the swapping and wiring?
The donar car has all the bits i need.
I have noticed a couple of spare plugs underneath the bonnet/hood, behind the grill on mine.
I presume these are for the fogs?

I don't think so to be honest. Most people have these unused connectors behind the grille, but they're not for fogs.

There's been speculation in the past that the wiring *EDIT for fogs* is in place on all models, but I'm not sure about that either.  :-/

Its going to be a case of tracing things back on your particular car I think.

Good luck.
