Title: Scorpio Estate - Number plate bulb replacement
Post by Oliver on Sep 8th, 2005, 4:31pm
It's MOT time and I need to replace one of the number plate light bulbs located in the rear bumper (Estate).  I haven't tried it but is it a simple matter of just pulling out the holder?  Could someone give me some tips so I don't end up damaging the paint.

Cheers, Oliver

The two light fittings are located in the bumper by a plastic clip fitted to each end of the holder. If you gently prise up one end  the unit should come away quite easily. The holder then separates ( by twisting the lower half through 90deg) to allow access to the capless bulb. You can always protect the paintwork with a piece of masking or insulating tape if you wish.

Thanks, I'll give it a go when I get home later and report back.

Well that was easy.  Just pull and out it pops.  I feel a bit of a wuss for asking now!

Never be afraid to ask. We all have to learn and there's plenty to learn about these cars. No one minds giving advice The old saying is 'It's easy when you know how ' !. Glad to have helped. Good luck with the MOT.
