Title: Main Fuse Box Multi Plug
Post by DexterR1 on Oct 3rd, 2005, 2:35pm
:-[ Hi all, had a bit of a problem today, no lights, indicators, beeps, flashes and winks.

The reason was, I was cleaning around the fusebox drain plugs and on the main one I removed the multiplug at the front of the box for better access.  Tried the car next day and lo and behold, all the important electrics failed to work.

Went under the bonnet again!!!!!!!! :'( and checked the multiplug, with no keys in and pressure/force applied to the plug the wipers worked.  Obviously the plug was refitted wrong.

Attempted to refit a number of times with no sucess, did not want to lock in properly.

To fix this I noticed at the end where the wiring loom goes into the plug there are to round bits that slot into two female roundy bits on the fuse box moulding, so instead of just feeding the metal clamp into the slot and closing it I first engaged the two roundy bits and pushed the plug home whilst engaging the clamp arm.

Yay all is as was, }{

So if anybody removes this plug and replaces it and there is any movement in it at all after clamping, try it again and again until there is no movement in the plug.

A good rule of thumb is if you have lights and indicators the plug is good.

}{ won't be moving that again in a hurry ;D ;D ;D

Happy night time motoring

Steve
