Title: Re: dashboard removal Post by mr._floppy on Nov 15th, 2005, 12:34pm Did it the other day, it's a fair old job, so set aside a couple of hours. Start with the two torx headed screws on the lower right hand side of the dash ( near the door insulation rubbers ) when removed, lower the plastic unit which has the computer buttons, this gives access to two cross headed screws which secure the walnut fascia. There are a further four screws to remove, two at the radio and two above the speedo/tacho unit. Pull the steering wheel to its furthest point ( no need for removal ) then pull the fascia towards you, the radio can be removed at this point ( have the code handy !) also remove the headlight selector switch, reach in and remove the CC unit multi-plug ( also no need to remove the unit from the fascia ). The only problem I encountered was the removal of the heated front and rear windscreen heater plugs, they are very tight fit and are a pig to remove , so beware. The right hand side air vent has to be removed to clear the whole fascia past the steering wheel. After that it's plain sailing to replace the bulbs . Have plenty of patience and good luck. |
