Currently with Norwich Union Direct: £248 fully comp for an 'S reg' 24V Ultima Auto saloon. Age 47 and 47 for the missus. Excess is £220. 12 years NCB (counts as >5 years). No points. Mileage 10,000 p.a.

www.confused.com came up with some good quotes last year, although many had high excesses.

BTW, last year I went to renew the insurance for my Focus and thought I'd try to get cheaper.

www.confused.com found the same policy for £50 less with the same insurer (also Norwich Union Direct). So I 'phoned up Norwich who couldn't match confused's quote, cancelled them then 'phoned back to take out the 'new' policy. When they asked 'who was you last insurer?' I said 'you!'. No problems and £50 saving. Also shaved £97 off my house insurance by the same method.

Tesco's beat Norwich Union for me, but only when you add the courtesy car!

Have been with Tesco'c for a couple of years now (me 43 and wife 33 - now there's cradle snatching for you ;) )
We both use Tesco and have yet not found cheaper.

This years cover is due and it came in at £330 fully comp no claims protected £0 excess and thats a London postcode!

Having just had a claim due to the other drivers fault, they were quite good at sorting it out, even though they wanted to write it off :(. I bought it back and repaired it myself and have £700 left out of the payout I got from them! :D

Shop round and read the differences on the excess and windscreen cover! This is a good site to help save money here (http://moneysavingexpert.com/)

I'm 19 with no NCD and insuring my td i paid £1200 for fire and theft with windscreen cover and thats with Admiral, then just out of curiosity last week i did a quote for a 2.9 cossie... £950! I know what car i'm getting next...  ;)

Another thing, i would have thought that keeping the car in the garage would bring the premium down, but it would have added an extra £30 odd  ???

Mine weighs in at £269 TPFT with elephant.co.uk not brilliant but privilege offered £300 fully comp, Not bad me being 24 and living in Milton Keynes.

oh yeah and thats the 10 month bonus accelerator policy seems kind of pointless now as i am sure I have full no claims i'll probably go qoute hunting next month when I turn 25.

I'm paying £378 with breakdown cover as well from more than, seems reasonable enougth for a 1998 24v Cossie fully comp,£50 excess for a 41 y/o 7yrs no claims discount

Dave, lol, i couldn't find the tick box on the site to inform them that there wasn't a car theif waiting in my garage...  ;)

The car just about fits in the garage with those lights (and the tow bar sticking out the back), in the end i didn't go with the garage option which was probably a good idea because now there is no way it would fit in there what with a spare engine, a leather interior, a dashboard, and various other bits and pieces now taking up space.

try those two if you're looking for insurance, they do online checks with every major insurance company meaning you only need to enter your details the once.

One you get the quotes then go to the insurance companys website and get a direct quote as its usually cheaper again.
