Just incase your new to the 24v and havent had the pleasure yet. ;D

All replaced today with thanks for the donor from Baz :D

Thermostat is a pain in the ass though and a very bad place for it to be situated. Suffice to say if it goes again (the rad), the car gets ditched for a 2.3 :-/

he he he.....I said that 3 radiators ago!!

So did you swap the thermostat as well?

Yes. Was going to put 80 Deg one in but decided to go to Ford in end due to leak increasing in strength and unable to wait for postage. >:(

Well I would say that is a bad one as in worse than the norm.

Yeah I would say put the 80 deg stat in as it will reduce your pressures 32mm is what you need by the way.

Maybe its due to the kinked pipe in the photo on my other post? (If you have Cossie READ THIS)

No I have seen lots of ballooned rads & that pipe is fine infact your example is the first I have seen.
That pipe well it is the pipe from the pump to the cooler so infact I don't think it will make a difference to the fact the rad has ballooned, but will cause a restrition in flow so open to input here.

Looking at that balooned rad and ad it's shape, i wander if you put a metal strap around right in the middle, it will restrict de balooning. Do something else could blow.....don't think so.....So if it would be reinforced it will last longer.

hi there

i'm i right in saying that the hot water enters from the top of the radiator? so then cold water exits the bottom. so why does it go at the bottom? do they balloon any where else? could the issue be the waterpump?

New 24V owner - still a newbie - so all this radiator stuff is a "downer" - should have got 12V V6!!
I,ve not experienced it myself - thank goodness - but..

Could it not be possible to fit "T" into top or bottom hose to a blow off valve?? - old style spring loaded type cap or whatever.
Anyone know what system pressure is on 24V??
Logic says water pump possible reason - as this appears to be only thing not changed. If hoses OK & no blockages and stat & rad changed but same problem. What else but pump is there left????.
