Title: Heater blower has mind of its own?
Post by Mickey_2.9 on Jan 19th, 2006, 11:03pm
I havent had my Scorp for very long so I'm not sure if my heater is working correctly or not.
I hope someone can help.
When the blower is on manual no matter what setting it is on it comes on and off at any old time, it could just be a bad connetion but I get the feeling it is being turned on and off as though it was set on auto?
The other thing is that the a/c keeps coming on when the temp is set at high even when it is not set on demist, whats going on!

The car is a 95 2.9 12v Ultima.

Hi mate, sounds like the HBC module, there is a post on it here:

The AC default is ON, all the time, unless you manualy switch it off, using the AC button.

Thanks Lockey, Lots of good info on those links. I think you are right and that I have a problem with the HBC. Its ok when its first used but starts to play up when the cars been running for a while. Maybe its the old type without the extra heat sink. Another job to do!
