Title: Blue Dash LED's. Phase 1 Post by leftofcentre on Jan 28th, 2006, 8:35pm Well the LEDs arrived today so this is the 1st stage. Just the speedo console completed at the mo. Pic below. The analogue clock and CC panel are not satsifactory so i am attempting wiring in my own LED's with a better circumfrance of light. I shall update these photos as Phase 2 ;D My wife is ecstatic about the results so far. Reckons it looks fantastic + i have to say it is much better than i expected. Gradually i will replace all green with blue inc A4LDe mode switches, trip comp, cigar lighters etc etc. Well verdicts then guys + gals......... http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d21/leftofcentre2005/1.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d21/leftofcentre2005/2.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d21/leftofcentre2005/3.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d21/leftofcentre2005/4.jpg |

Title: Re: Blue Dash LED's. Phase 1 Post by Baz on Jan 28th, 2006, 9:02pm Now I do like that......there is a guy on EBay who sells mondeo and escort switches done with blue LEDs. Very effective I was thinking about getting green ones for an even greener dash or maybe like yours and add a few white and reds like the VW dash |

Title: Re: Blue Dash LED's. Phase 1 Post by leftofcentre on Jan 29th, 2006, 8:48pm Depends if u wanna surrender ur motor to me for a day. I live in Beauly mate (12miles form you) + i would want a good day to do it without pressure. Trim in my opinion is a bit of a nightmare + much patience is reqd so nothing gets broken/snapped/cracked etc. For the main Dash, just the four 10mm LED (replacement of the bulbs) inserts are reqd as the old bulbs are a push fit into the twistlock base. Just one 5mm LED is all thats reqd for the Car Door inicator. The remaining 5mm bulbs dont need changing as they are for Indicators (Green for MOT??), Main Beam (Blue anyway), Traction (which urs doesnt have), Hazards (as per indicators) + Cruise Control. 3 LED's for clock, 5 for CC panel and then its upto you regarding ur elec window switches. |

Title: Re: Blue Dash LED's. Phase 1 Post by Thunderchild on Jan 30th, 2006, 2:12pm Very nice look there. Do you intend to do a write up on this conversion or if not can you tell us how many of each type of led you used to get the effect. Keen to do this as well but I don't want to be hauling the dash out and in more that I have to. Appreciate any information you're willing to post. Thunderchild |
