I got my cans of spray, filler and touch up pen at the ready to take care of all the little dings and bubbly stuff spatterd all over me nice car. What is the best way to take care of this stuff? I was thinking rubbing the sections down starting with 400 grade wet n dry, then working through 600, 1000, 1400 then finaly 2000 grade. I also have sections where the origonal clear laquer is peeling or bubbled but no actual paint damage, any advice on these areas?

With great care! I did a spray job to remove a Key scratch from the bonnet but it isnt satisfactory. So going in for a respray next week.

As for the lacquer, try a tin of Leveller. This works by re-activating the dried paint and blends it back in with the rest of the paintwork. care needed though so as not to be too generous with it as this will cause runs. >:(

The only reason there is so much land up there is cos no one wants to bloody live there! Have you seen how many bloody scots there are in England...most in Parliament too! If it was that good, they would all be up there wouldn't they? It is cold and damp and no one can understand a bloody word the locals say!

I walk out of my house and within 3 minutes walk, I can buy a pizza, a curry, my entire weeks shopping at asda, watch a film at the 10 screen multiplex, see a doctor, walk my son to school and still be back before my coffee goes cold, buy flowers, get my clothes dry cleaned and visit the library. 5 minutes drive away, gets me petrol, LPG, my office, most of my customers, IKEA, the biggest M&S in Europe, 2 ford dealers and countless other 21st century luxuries.....sheep, grass and crofters cottages do not inspire me I'm afraid. If I want that I can go to Wales; a lot closer and still non-understandable!!

Getting back to subject raised by B-F.
Recently done touching up myself - no pun intended!
I found the Motocraft paint & laq pack to be the best match & easiest to use
Motorcraft paint & laq pencils also.
Cost more than motor factors for smaller tins - but 1 spray pack did several coats on rad grill surround & wing.
Not as good as respray but acceptable to me.

Forgot to add that important to "feather in" edges of loose laquer prior to spraying or you may get lifting at joint
