Title: AIR CON COMPRESSOR REPAIR Post by the_machine on May 22nd, 2006, 7:38am heres a tip if your pulley bearing ha gone: remove the pulley by unscrewing the 8mm bolt, you can then remove a circlip and the pulley comes off. the bearing can be removed by grinding the metal tags that lock it in place. buy a new bearing then seal it back in by punching some new tags into the housing by using a cold chisel. saves you over £100 + pounds. guess what ?? ford dont sell the pulley wheel on its own!!!!! madness !!!!!!! crazy lot ! (new bearing £5) from swan bearings , preston , lancs |

Title: Re: AIR CON COMPRESSOR REPAIR Post by jonnycab on May 23rd, 2006, 10:14am Thanks for thinking of me :-*, but I've just managed to get a second hand one off pinxtonpete for a very reasonable price. This advice will come in handy though for when I get the old one off. If I manage to fix it then at least I will have a spare. |

Make sure you blank off the inlet and outlet holes as soon as you take the pump off mate so as not to let in any dirt or moisture. |
