I've just had the classic rear wheel bearing failure with associated damaged hub. Thanks to this site I was aware of the problem and brought the car to a mechanic as soon as he had time to look at it, thereby avoiding a roadside breakdown.

My question is this: Is the scorpio wheel hub the same as a sierra hub? A local scrappy says he can supply a sierra hub if they're the same.

Your help, as usual is appreciated.

hi-Hubs are the same on both models .For ref only //the bearing carriers differ tho,cosworth are different finis no (2.0 sierra cos fits 2.9 scorpio cos).hth

i put a sierra one on mine last year
and still going good now

Unfortunately, it turns out, that my reassuring scrappy did not have a sierra hub and was not well founded in his confidence.

So, I'm now looking for a rear wheel hub for a 2 litre scorpio. Its the drivers side (although I'm told each side is the same). If anyone in the community has one for sale, I would be happy to hear from you.

I'll put this in the 'Parts wanted' section of the site as well.

Back on the road again this afternoon, thanks to all who responded to my call for help with particular thanks to Stuart/Highlander who supplied the needed part.

Another fine example of the community pulling together to help out one its more hapless members.
