Title: Re: No Compresion Post by Highlander on Jun 22nd, 2006, 5:18pm No, which Ford dealer are you using? |

Title: Re: No Compresion Post by howiedintheplace on Jun 22nd, 2006, 5:37pm Yeah sounds like your chain has jumped a few teeth or broke on that side. If it's broke you would also have very little power & engine would be very rough. What Ford say refers to the Mk3 24V not the later Scorpio 95+ |

Title: Re: No Compresion Post by Highlander on Jun 22nd, 2006, 5:45pm Is it the Granada 24v you have Mark? |

Title: Re: No Compresion Post by mark_erdington on Jun 22nd, 2006, 6:27pm The garage is called Hartlands ford, but there you go!The engine does run rough so if it has jumped a few teeth maybe it has,nt bent valves.the garage also say the plugs are wet.but if the timming is out maybe they would be. |

Title: Re: No Compresion Post by mark_erdington on Jun 22nd, 2006, 6:31pm how easy is it to change a timming chain on these, also I may as well change the timming chain tensioners. |

Title: Re: No Compresion Post by Highlander on Jun 22nd, 2006, 6:34pm Yes John I saw that. There is a Granada Scorpio 2.9 24v Cosworth though which people often confuse with our 95-98 Scorpio http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Granada-Scorpio-2-9-litre-24v-Cosworth_W0QQitemZ4651765871QQihZ002QQcategoryZ9844QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

Title: Re: No Compresion Post by howiedintheplace on Jun 23rd, 2006, 11:41am Mark See what damage you have done first & then price it up first mate. You may be shocked. If you still want to do it there is guides on the main site. At the very least a new chain, sprockets & guides for that side is gonna be about £250+ To do a proper job you need to do the other side also, you have to remove that sides chain anyway to do your bank >:( Alot of money even if you do it yourself. |
