Title: seat button panel
Post by Kjetil S on Aug 20th, 2006, 4:50pm
Hello,

could anyone post a picture of the seat button panel (the buttons where you move the seat up/down and back/forth)?

The reason I'm askin is that I'm replacing my original seat frame which only has up/down with one that is fully electric, and want to see how the buttons are placed on fully electric seats.

Cheers,

Kjetil

Thanks,

It would seem like I have a problem then  :)

It looks like the fully electric seats use a totally different switch panel compared to the semi electric ones.

Basicly I now have a fully electric mounting frame for my drivers seat and still have the manual knob to adjust the back, and only have one button on the side of the seat to lift or lower the seat.

Still wouldn't mind a good picture of the entire lower side of a fully electric seat.  ;)

This will be what you want.

Good luck with it.   :)

Brilliant!

Thanks alot!

Confirmed my suspicions. still wonder how I'm going to add the forward/backward adjustment switch and keep the back adjustment knob.

Could perhaps get another one of the buttons used for just about anything (electric windows/roof/seat adjustment/and so on), cut a hole in the original button panel and re-wire the multiplug.

I have a passenger side switch for fully auto seat if it is any good? PM me if you want it!

I had a similar problem - had fully electric passenger seat but donor car had manual, I wanted the pumice leather so took the cushion back off the manual frame and swoped it over - the motor for both the lumbar support and the tilt control motors are both in the frame!

Bit tricky but not impossible! http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/interior/seat/fseatcovrhi.pdf

Hmm, the problem is that the seat (with internal frame) is still manual, but the mounting frame (external frame beneath the seat) is fully electric. So I can either hack-saw something  ;)
OR I can convert the seat to fully electric. The latter is probably (my guess) easiest accomplished by replacing the back frame on the seat (if they can be separated), and then perhaps do the cushion swap as described in the pdf.

You wouldn't happen to have a fully electric frame for the seat back as well?  ;D

Edit: I see now that it is fully possible to separate the back from the cushion. Held together by torx screws aparently
