Title: Removing the front ABS sensor
Post by Butterfingers on Aug 20th, 2006, 7:03pm
Tried removing the drivers side ABS sensor today. Managed to undo the multiplug and the retaining bolt, but couldn't remove the sensor from the hub. Anyone got any ideas as to how to remove it? Like wacking it with a great big hammer?

Many thanks.

Tap it gently from side to side and see if you can get it turning, then WD40 and a lot of perseverence, they do come out but if you try too hard, too soon they will break

They are I think the most annoying thing fitted to the Scorpio.

Unless they are almost new impossible to remove without breaking them.

Good Luck.

I managed to twist it free - used mole grips but protect the sensor and plenty of WD40 as Highlander said!

Mine was nice and clean so I put it back and it has been ok since!

Yep, its just a push fit, the bolt holds it in place and it should just pull out with the bolt removed except they dont :)
