The engine oil is standard oil, I use 10/40 semi  synthetic and change filter and oil every 3000 miles but that is a personal preference,
the power steering is a closed system and should NOT need toping up at all. Check for leaks on the pipes and make sure the bellows are not full of oil as the seals in the rack sometimes go. but if its only a small amount its down then add ATF fluid to it up to the mark . !/2 way between Full and Low is best .This link might help STEERING (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/steermanual.htm)
FYI the whole of the Workshop manual is on the main site and is best indexed from here INDEX (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/index2.htm) Good luck.

As Snoopy says, if the fluid drop is significant and it is not immediately obvious,ie:not on the 'under tray', the driveway/garage floor or leaking from the pipe from the reservoir to the pump it is most likely being held in the steering rack gaiters which will swell up and eventually split.
