Title: Cabin filters from the servicing list.
Post by derekne on Aug 30th, 2006, 3:41pm
Hello does anyone know who wrote the following?
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cabinfilters.htm
As I ordered some 504 filters from Jetex.
(As the link at the bottom of page stated)
When they arrived I only got the filters with no spray.
I was under the impression that I would get the spray with the filters. As the pictures show on the fordscorpio website. Unfortunately this wasnt the case. I could of got the filters for half the price of Jetex. But thought id give the spray a go. To note any deoderiseing difference. As ive not used any spray before.
I was gutted to find the box with only 3 filters any ideas?

Have you tried ringing jetex just in case the spray was meant to be in the box?

Well I have just rang them up and.............
We do not have any sprays and havent had for almost a year now.
We wont be getting any more in as our supplyers. Arnt giving them out anymore.
I asked well why are they the same price? They should of reduced the cost surely as it wont cost the same.
He replied I have no idea. ???

Short year!
My order of 29 March 2006, came with the spray.
Although it was more of a dribble than a spray.

Doesn't this sound as though the 'Spray' was a 'complimentary' thing with the filters?. If they say the 'suppliers don't give us them anymore' and the one Tompion had was probably old stock and didn't work well that seems to fit the bill. The article on the site was 2003.  Have just looked at the Jetex site and that says "MOST filters are supplied with a spray" Got to be worth another call.

Hello,
Well not to be done.
I did email them after my last post on here. Today I got a email reply.
None of this has been altered in anyway. This is exactilly as I got it.
Dear Derek,

We used to offer every pollen filter with an antibacterial spray but the factory that produce them have stopped offering them for every pollen filter (I do not know exactly why - there is no substitute in getting the pipes cleaned by a garage or car dealer. A spray is like deodrant in that it does not get rid of the source of the odour). We do say on our website that most filters are supplied with a spray, not every filter.

Our pollen filters have been sold to many Scorpio owners without any complaints. They are excellent value for money, but if you feel that the spray is why you bought the filters then please send them back by 1st class post and we will arrange a full refund.

Regards,

Neil J
