hi guys, thanks for your help last time, i was hoping you could help once again, i have just got my second cossie estate on a P reg done 121000 serviced every year by ford "dunno if thats good or bad".
any way i have a little problem, no fourth gear..............
please dont shout at me, look only paid £275 for it and its better condition then my 94 version and a lot quieter, anyway the o/d light flashes as soon as i put my foot on the accelerator, even if i switch off the o/d, changes gear fine, just no fourth.

Fourth is electronicly engaged so if the system senses a fault, it will not engage OD. You will need to get a scan to find out what the deal is but I would also check the loom for damage. If a scan throws up a P0734 Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio code on fourth its the brake bands and will need a re-con/new box. There are two other codes that govern the shift solenoid that may be at fault and can be changed without having the box out.
