Title: wot no headlights Post by wickedteen on Sep 14th, 2006, 8:00pm well tonight i went to go out in the cossie, but i have no front lights, at all, but i do have rear lights and fogs. all my indicators work f/r, i have rear fog and tail lights, but totally nothing on the front, no side, no main, no full. when i switch them on the relays are clicking as they should but nothing lights up, i have also noticed the my wipers dont work on fast and when you switch of from normal wiping they stop straight away rather then continue to rest in there proper place, but it all worked properly two days ago, please help |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by TiberiuS on Sep 14th, 2006, 8:33pm Have you checked fuses yet? For starters, go here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/temp.htm) and check fuse III (60amp biggie) in the battery fusebox. Take it from there :). Regards, Bruce. |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by wickedteen on Sep 14th, 2006, 8:41pm just check that, theres no way you read that, maybe it should be renewed, have you checked that page as yet, you cannot read it, cheers though i shall check it out tomorrow, but surely if im getting power to the relays then that fuse should be fine i would have thought. |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by TiberiuS on Sep 14th, 2006, 8:45pm You click on zoom to make it legible ::) The relay coil/contacts are 2 different circuits, the big fuse won't stop the relays working, just stop any current getting to the bulbs. May not be that but it's where I'd check first :) |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by wickedteen on Sep 14th, 2006, 8:54pm oh i see, cheers, to cut a long story short, i was getting all the crap out around the fuse boxes the other day, you know all the dead leaves and rubbish, i hope i havent killed it. |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by wickedteen on Sep 14th, 2006, 9:02pm does this fuse also control the power to the rear lights as they are working |
||
Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by solarpanel on Sep 14th, 2006, 9:09pm did you remove the multiplug on the main fusebox you have to lock it in properly so every thing works |
||
Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by wickedteen on Sep 14th, 2006, 9:14pm yes i did it seems to be in and connected, i mean if it wasnt it wouldnt lock down would it ????????? |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by Simmo on Sep 14th, 2006, 9:38pm It is most likely the multiplug. The plug has to be located in two lugs ,if I recall correctly, before it is finally secured. It WILL go in and appears to be located but the 'no headlight' syndrome is a classic sign of the multiplug having not been replaced correctly. It is mentioned in the 'fault finding' page. |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by TiberiuS on Sep 14th, 2006, 10:11pm You was working around the fusebox??? oh... I think the tail lamps/number plate lamps come from a separate 5A fuse. |
||
Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by wickedteen on Sep 15th, 2006, 7:09am i thought it would be best to get all the crap out, rather then leave it in there to rot, i always do it, it saves getting welded later when it has rotted the bulkhead |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by wickedteen on Sep 15th, 2006, 8:48am just checked all fuses and the multiplug and it all seems fine, now im really lost with this one |
||
Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by Highlander on Sep 15th, 2006, 9:36am The multiplug needs to be pushed under the locking tabs at the end farthest from the cable and then pushed down into place, it will still fit and clip in if its not in properly but your lights wont work |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by scorpio_man on Sep 15th, 2006, 11:22am hi there might also be one of the plugs underneath the fusebox. it can sometimes fall out a bit. hth |
||
Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by wickedteen on Sep 15th, 2006, 1:06pm i know this might be pushing it a little but is there anyone close by who could possibly have a look for me, cos im just not finding anything, so far i have power in the fuse box going to the multiplug but no power on the other side of the multiplug, it would appear that there is a problem around the plug but cant find what, cheers all |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by derekne on Sep 15th, 2006, 1:50pm It is the multiplug. Even though it looks like its in properly. The d**n thing isnt in properly. The plug will still go on and the silver bracket thing still clamps down. but it is VITALY CRUTIAL that the little tiny lugs that are either side. Near to the closest (car body)wing. A few naughbors came over for a look and they couldnt work it out either. We all took the plug off and on and off and on. I kept running in to see the updated posts on hear. All pointed to the multiplug. After a good few hours messing around.I got the plug on. }{ Dont believe me ?? Have a look at this. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Problems;action=display;num=1156435085;start=4#4 |

Title: Re: wot no headlights Post by derekne on Sep 15th, 2006, 1:52pm If you scroll up you can clearly see a picture of my fusebox. Clearly the silver clap thing is on and so is the plug but in the picture it still wasnt on properly. |
