hi guys i have a scorpio 2.5 diesel and 1 push rod has twice come out of the rocker 1st time push rod ok put back in fine ran 400 miles no prob next day started up and push rod came out again this time bending put new one in been ok for 200 mile any ideas as to cause thanks

Sounds good to me :) usually happens to high mile-ers or abused engines because over time the push rod wears until it becomes so short it pops out from the rocker seat and goes walkabouts where it shouldn't be!

I'm thinking of replacing mine just to be on the safe side and seeing as i've moved house and now do 110 miles commuting to and from work everyday i suppose prevention is better than cure ;)

I would guess at a faulty hydraulic tappet which isn't 'extending' to take up the play. Might want to try some engine flush and an oil change...
