Title: Vacuum EVR EGR EVAP???
Post by twinturbo on Oct 21st, 2006, 3:34pm
I am trying to track down the source of my poor idle and High long term fuel trims..

Today I started checking the vacume lines and sure enugh sucking on the pipe to the EGR system showed little resistance..

The egr valve provided resistance.. Good.
The pipe to the EGR valve provided no resistance BAD.. And on inspection it was found to be melted on the underside and leaking.. So I replaced that.

There still seemed to be very little resistance over the lenght of the system,

There seems to be no leak to the Vacuum Canister.

The pipe to the EVR was sound. So this could only leave the EVR..

Blowing from bottom to top port is blocked.
Sucking from bottom to top port resulted in a leak somwhere else, from under the cap at the top..

So....

Should there be a leak to atmosphere on the EVR valve?

Seems odd to me...

I also seem to have little vacuum on the 3rd vacuum line.. I think it goes to the evap systems...  Should this have a decent vacuum resistance?

TT
