Title: Engine Type? Post by Bulldozer on Oct 23rd, 2006, 8:02am Hi everyone, I'm sure this must have been asked before (probably many times) and I'm sorry to ask it again but . . . . What's the difference between the 'BOA' and 'BOB' engines? Thanks to all in advance. |

Title: Re: Engine Type? Post by Spannerdemon on Oct 23rd, 2006, 8:42am I don't know the answer, but this site may well help you. It is a good site to supplement this one. All about Ford Engines/Power etc etc. http://www.fordpower-uk.co.uk/index.php?s=58418b922321be95f145d012a57d1398&showforum=12 |

Title: Re: Engine Type? Post by howiedintheplace on Oct 23rd, 2006, 8:48am Well alot more than you think probably & far too much to list really. Basics are: Engine management Inlet fuel rail Heads Block Crank Cam timming gear Camshafts Thermostat & more ;D But most of it can be swapped around between engines with some minor mods ;) |

Title: Re: Engine Type? Post by Bulldozer on Oct 23rd, 2006, 12:35pm Is there a simple way of identifying wich version I have? I'm about to undertake a head overhaul and don't want to get wrong gaskets etc. |

Title: Re: Engine Type? Post by twinturbo on Oct 23rd, 2006, 1:03pm Easy.. If you have a black plastic engine cover with COSWORTH 24V it's a BOB.. If you have an aluminium Plenum with two Cosworth badges it's a BOA.. All scorpios BOB All Granada's BOA TT |

Title: Re: Engine Type? Post by Dave on Oct 23rd, 2006, 1:03pm Basically if you have a Granada (up to 1995) its a BOA, if its a Scorpio (1995 onwards) its a BOB. |

Title: Re: Engine Type? Post by Bulldozer on Oct 23rd, 2006, 1:15pm Thanks Dave & TT for making it so simple. Mines definately a BOB ('95, Scorpio), which is good 'cause that's the only gasket set my local supplier can find me. |
