Title: 17'' Wheels, Offset???
Post by David_Balcon on Oct 27th, 2006, 3:43pm
Hi All

I'm going to put some 17'' wheels on my 95 Ultima Estate which is currently fitted with 15''.

I'm very confused by the offset issue. I saw a nice set of Focus racing alloys on ebay last week with a quoted offset of 47. Would these fit? :-/

Any help gratefully received

David

You should be ok with 35 to 40, If the focus wheels were 47mm positive offset then you would be ok with them and a 10mm spacer but then you would need to get studs 10mm longer than standard, Best to get the correct offset as most Ford wheels will fit.
To give you an idea on new prices I bought some 17" TSW heat with Yokohama tyres fitted, balanced, nuts and lockers etc, brand new for £400 via the internet, saved £100.
It turned out to be Motorworld and they were £100 more in the shop.
The estate has 19" and these were £300 cheaper than anywhere I could find, These also came via the internet.
Once you find what you want then just spend some time surfing, You could save a few quid ;)
