Title: 2.3 fuel injector question Post by TheCrust on Nov 14th, 2006, 8:56pm Hi, Can anyone tell me the part number (that is, the *bosch* part number if present) on a 2.3 DOHC fuel injector? Alternatively, the flow rate of the same would be handy if anyone happens to know it instead. My 2.3 8v 'hybrid' DOHC is in the car and running - but it's a "touch rich" on 250cc / 24lb injectors and I'm trying to work out a more appropriate fuel flow so I can source alternative injectors. Knowing what the Scorp 2.3 uses as standard would be a good start I suppose..... ;D Thanks in advance, Jim |

Title: Re: 2.3 fuel injector question Post by Matt on Nov 14th, 2006, 9:18pm i take it you have bolted an 2.0l 8v head to a 2.3's block? if so then the 8v 2 valves per cylinder probably wont inlet/exhaust quickly enough. ive done something very simlar except i bolted the 2.016v head to a 2.3 block, and also converted it to the 2.0's inlet manifold and the car runs great. i have a 2.0l 16v fule rail, it has the regulator on it so probably help or cure your problem |

Title: Re: 2.3 fuel injector question Post by TheCrust on Nov 15th, 2006, 8:41am Yeah, got a Sierra 8v head on it - had to drop the balancers and stick a Sierra 8v sump on it too as it wouldn't go in a Sierra "as is". Head is ported and modified to make the most of the piper cams going in it when it's run in, so don't believe there will be any problems with gasflow compared to the 16v setup. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/thecrust/2300DOHC/IMG_4106.jpg It runs fine - nice and smooth and torquey - but I am aware it's a bit rich on the larger injectors so need to tame the fuelling a touch. Hence the question ;) |
