Title: Lights
Post by Simmo on Nov 19th, 2006, 10:12am
In a recent thread HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Advice;action=display;num=1163181635;start=15#15) in reply 25, Matt talked about cleaning the lens in front of the dipped beam bulb. I did this yesterday and would say that there has been a vast improvement in the quality of the dipped beam. As he says it only needs a clean duster and there did not appear to be much 'residue' but the lens was distinctly cleaner and the lighting vastly improved.

have to agree here, the scorpio always suffered from poor lighting for some reason,OK main beam was quite good, but dip was poor considering the headlamps,it wasn't until i changed my lenses completely when i had mine did i actually notice the difference, now we all know it quite easy to remove the lens details   HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/headglass.htm) would recommend trying this as well....

Matt is right, it does make a difference ;)

I don't have a problem with the standard lamps, even had a couple of comments, 'I know your car because it has lovely bright headlamps' lol ;D

Polishing the inside of the lens with a good car polish works too, just don't try it on the chrome reflector unless you want the black plastic look :)

Regards, Bruce.
