Hi folks

Now I have my 2 litre sorted, I am wondering what the logistics would be to replace the MT75 with an auto box?

I know that it would be slower but that does not bother me.

Anybody done this?

What am I going to need?

er an auto scorpio to brake would give you all you need! even the ecu programing may need looking at?

Would be so easier & cheaper to buy a 2.0L auto ;)

Could be a electrical nightmare unless you fit a old style non electronic box.

Tempted to have a go in any case, any other thoughts on issues, challenges or ways of getting it done.

Is propshaft same or different?

What about mountings / transmission tunnel?

What about bellhousing and drives?

Or do I get an engine with box?

What additional electrical connections?

Is VSS same on auto/manual?

I know it may be cheaper to go out and buy a donor

;)

Only on this forum could you have 'manual to auto' sitting above an 'auto to manual' thread :)

I'm thinking mainly about the wiring, you'd need a new engine loom at the very least. I'd try and pickup a good auto donor and make a good one :) Small things like the VSS can be sorted later, your main issue is to get the engine/box into the car.

At least the ARB does not get in the way of dropping the box on the scorpio, unlike the Granny and Sierra...
