hi ive just replaced my rear ilghts with a set of facelift ones and cannot get the stop/tail lamps working on the piece fixed to the boot  is the wireing different in the facelift set to the early set  if so can anyone advise how to connect these lights up    thanx   ???

You've connected the plugs and they've got bulbs in? If so I can't see why they won't ;). Check the connnectors/bulbs.

As far as I know the wiring and bulb layout is the same, just that the facelift ones do away with the chrome trim.

hi bruce thanx for the replie i had a look and forgot prefacelift lights dont have  brake lights in the the centre piece so it looks like i need to convert them some how  any ideas

should just be a matter of tapping into the side units brake lights, then running a cable from the lights, up the boot hinge and down into the center unit, you should only need to run the 'live cable and then connect the negative to the boot metal work

Daz,

they aren't meant to work. For some reason there are stop andf tail lights in the centre bar but no electrical track in the fitting to support the brake light function
