i,m travelling to beverley east yorks very early sun morn for my sis in laws 60th, bearing in mind i,ll be doing the york outer ring road, hopefully early enough to miss the shoppers. any one like to guess the ave MPG and the ave speed? (2.9 cos scorpio). mileage from carlisle about 165.i,ll be coming back home mon lunchtime and i,ll post the readings monday evening. i,ll be using the M6 to penrith then A66 to scotch corner, A1,A1M then A59 to york then 1079 to hull and so to beverley. i,ll trip it both ways and compare. where permitting i,ll do 80 on the M roads and dual carriageways and 60 on the others . Guesses please?

Hi Neil,
if you average about 50-60mph for each trip I reckon 26-28mpg.

Reckon you`ll hit traffic. 55 MPH 23MPG

The south bound part of the trip should prove to be quite economic, because it is all downhill ;D

58mph, 23-25mpg ;)

left at 0730 sun morn,very little traffic, passed one car on the 66 top of stainmore, nowt else until A1, took the eastern route round york past clifton moor, very quiet.Met one a***e hole north of york on the 59 who decided to overtake a car coming towards me on double white,s, good job there was a lay by on my side as i had to use it to avoid him and the low sun was in my eyes not his!Came back mon. about 1530ish,quite busy so used the york western route to avoid clifton moor shoppers.
on the outward journey i did147.9 miles, ave.MPH52, ave.mpg27.
return journey i did 152.8 miles,aveMPH46,ave MPG27.7.
the climate control was set at 23 , for my side and 26 for the wifes side , A/C was used only occasionly to clear the windows.
Pegasus seems nearest, i owe you one at a scorpio meet.

Baz, Harveys is the local Brewery in Lewes and has been turning out Real Ale for many years. Its Best Bitter is frequently judged the Best Bitter in Great Britain !!. Paul is such a good customer that they supply it to his 'local' pub in London! ;)
