Title: ABS Sensors
Post by anyasdad on Feb 1st, 2007, 9:46pm
Need to check my ABS sensors after a duff n/s rear wheel bearing replacement. Have a multimeter just need to know if there's a resistance value for a good sensor or will it just be open or short circuit. If needed is there anyone in the South Leics area with a laptop, lead and Teves reset codes. Ta muchly. Martin.
Oh yeah, it's a 96 Ultima Estate, 2.9, 12V Auto.

Hi there, a good ABS sensor has a value of 1050-1070 ohms. Also with a multimeter you could free spin a wheel and the sensor should generate a slight voltage proportional with the rotation speed.

Cheers

Thank you for the speedy advice. Will try the spin test too.

Well what a shock! Was quoted £85 by local car parts dealer, a friend who works for Ford's UK Spares Distribution was quoted £88! (with discount) but maknaged to find one completely new for £25!
Thanks for all your help.
