Title: Re: rusty rear wheel arches Post by Baz on Feb 4th, 2007, 11:34pm Tony... depends how bad they are, mine had a bit on the near side and a good 10 minutes with a wire brush and a tin of touch up did the trick. Did the quick repair 15 months ago and still no sign of any rust coming through. Get the wheel off and the liner out of the arch and do a thorough job. Post some pics as well!! Baz |

Title: Re: rusty rear wheel arches Post by jonnycab on Feb 5th, 2007, 12:29am Hi tony.....you're not that far from me....I'm in Wickford. Can't say I've used many body shops in the area, but there are plenty of them about. Best thing to do is visit a few & get some quotes ;) Not sure of how much the average charge is, but about five years ago a guy in Goatsmoor Lane, Billericay repaired & resprayed the rear O/S wheel arch (after someone backed into it) on my old Scorp for £200. I had it back the same day, & it looked perfect (bigger body shops were quoting £900 plus to do it as an insurance job) :) |
