Hi does anyone know how to remove the plastic from around the base of the gear lever in a auto to replace the bulb, hard to drive at night lol. many thanks

Try reading THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/autotrans/GearSelector.pdf). Looks like you just .....GENTLY......lever up the surround to start with. The unit is held in place by plastic pegs in clips so go steady and 'feel' your way .

Thankyou for that, unfortunatly a rather heavy handed owner before me had already managed to break most of the clips but still did the trick, now to buy a bulb, never seen one like this before, nor had the 6 shops i went to lol, tomorow will be a trip to fords I think,

Just for future reference I find the end of a steel rule covered with a rag is ideal for that sort of job ;)

Nice one, tried the ruler idea and was perfect, bulbs are a little hard to get hold of but finally got two from a halfords for future pref. mant thanks

dogma,

what sort of bulb is it? the 3 cars i have all use a standard 501 slim wedge bulb (same as the sidelights)
