Title: Correct spec for Autobox Oil Post by Johnboy on Feb 27th, 2007, 12:30pm I am going to give the oil in my autobox on my 2.3 '98 a well earned change this weekend. I have ordered a new filter and gasket, but what is the correct spec. of gear oil and of what quantity. I believe i need to "purge" the torque convertor as well. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks John |

Title: Re: Correct spec for Autobox Oil Post by rik2.3ultima on Apr 3rd, 2007, 10:35pm I'll be doing mine too, very shortly. Is it a sod to do? I have trolley jack and stands only. Can get Dextron III ATF free though ;D Drive heavy plant (earthmoving) for a living and they all run Dex3 in the transmissions... Rik |

Title: Re: Correct spec for Autobox Oil Post by rik2.3ultima on Apr 5th, 2007, 6:54pm [] Well used to this. Have frequently had sleeves full of: Red Diesel (fuel tank outlet on 30Ton dumptruck) Hydraulic Oil (hoses and filters on shovels) Red lithium grease (AutoGreasers, stains you red and makes you look like a murderer) 10 years on Heavy Plant.... ;) Rik |
