Title: "Slipping"  A4LDE autobox ?
Post by pappa on Mar 8th, 2007, 2:50pm
Hi everyone...

In my previous life I used to be a car mechanic, but the
+20 years in IT business have melted that part of my
brain.

So I turn to you who still seem to have some grey cells
left and ask:

Is it possible to adjust the A4LDE clutches ? My 24V
seem to have a lot of power which never reaches
the rear wheels. My -93 24V with a A4LD is like from
from another planet. It shifts like a cat in heat when
you step on the gas pedal, but the A4LDE starts of
"slowly", with higher revs.

So my -93 195bhp machine is quicker than my -96
207bhp machine.

The A4LDE feels like it's "slipping" even though it
shifts nicely and smoothly and the O/D works etc...

yes it is certainly slipping and can be adjusted, the adjustment is on the passenger side of the gearbox

If you go to THIS (http://search.atomz.com/search/?sp-q=Automatic+gearbox&sp-a=sp100172f5) and select the links to the Autobox that should help.
