Hi there, it's pretty forward. You get the car on a flat ramp, get underneath. The gearbox has two plugs. One for fill up and another for emptying. You need to open the fill up one. The level should be right there. If you do this for the sake of simplicity you can change the oil as well. It takes 1.25 liters if i remember correctly. In mine case it made the gear changes a  lot better especially on those - 20 C cold mornings we had  ;)

Oil grade should be SAE 80W-90, which i couldn't find so i have put 75W-90 synthetic based.

Cheers

Later edit: by the way the old oil was like black marmalade.   :P

Quite easy. On the UK passenger side (unless they change the bell housing for the UK models) there should be an umbraco screw at the middle of the box. This is the filler plug. There should be a similar screw at the bottom side of the box. This is the drain plug.

The level is good when it is level with the filler plug.

The plugs should be visible in this (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/manualtrans/MT75Overhaul.pdf) document (drain plug on page 2, filler plug somewhere above it).

You could always go up a kerb with the rear wheels and use some stands for the front part. The general idea is that the car should not be very inclined.

Shouldn't the scorpio have special MT75 manual gearbox oil? It does on my 2.3 I would think the 2.0 is the same, not sure about the diesel though.

It should be Manual Gearbox Oil with the SAE 75W-90 or 80W-90 grade. The differential oil is special. It must be Hypoid SAE 90

I do stand corrected then, its just when I went in to my local motor factors ( which for the most part are usually correct) ::) and asked for some gearbox oil for my scorpio, they gave me some comma gearbox oil especially for the MT75 manual gearbox which meets ford spec ESD-M2C186-A. Same numbers to what it says on the main site so I assumed it must be the right one. This oil is the same for the MT75 in the sierras, granadas and the MTX75 gearbox fitted to some front wheel drive escorts, perhaps the scorpios different.  :)
