Title: EGR valve removal
Post by cossie_al on Apr 3rd, 2007, 5:14pm
Just wondering is anyone running a 24v with the egr valve removed completely and the flanges blocked (obviously)
I was having problems getting mine air tight so I decided to have a go with it removed.
Since then the car has a poor idle and is hesitant until it is up to operating temp. I was thinking I must have disturbed a vacume pipe or similar but all seam fine.
Any ideas ???

Yes, removed the pipe and made blanking plates.

hi there

i had mine off for a few weeks when my manifold cracked. i got a 2.0 replacement, but the egr pipework is different, so had to wait for a new pipe.

running wise there was no difference at all.

back to yours. air leak until upto temp then gap seals itself?
a from cold scan and then a up to temp scan would be good. ;)
