Title: Re: tyre pressures Post by jonnycab on May 27th, 2007, 3:03am Anywhere between 26 & 40 psi....(although 40 is a bit high)...it's personal preference really. Usually about 30-32 all round is a good tyre pressure to stick with...not too hard, not too soft ;) On my Scorp (taxi) the 225/50/16s are kept at 36 psi. It's not too hard a ride & they do last longer & it improves mpg ;) But you do suffer from slightly less grip in the wet having more psi....so you just have to be a bit more aware of road conditions :) Hope this helps :) |

Title: Re: tyre pressures Post by Simmo on May 27th, 2007, 6:21am THIS site (http://www.kwik-fit.com/tyre-pressure-search.asp) may help. I can't see the precise size listed for the Scorpio estate but the nearest 215/55 16 is 27psi. |

Title: Re: tyre pressures Post by TiberiuS on May 27th, 2007, 2:06pm On my 2.3 saloon I used to keep them at 26 rear and 29 front with the 225/50 R16 12 spokes. nice ride at speed but over pot holes :-X Not sure I'd go higher even for better mpg, I used to feel for that car over rough roads ::) I'm with Jonny though, high 20's to low 30's should be ok, less for comfort at lower speeds and lightly laden, more for heavily laden and travelling at high speed :) |

60psi all the way! ;D Just kidding. 34psi works for me on 195/65R15; dropping down to 29psi makes for a softer ride (though not better grip) and 40psi is too hard. Darren |
