Title: light emitting diode BULB
Post by dan_the_man on Jun 15th, 2007, 12:31am
hi gents, would anyone happen to know the part number or standard size to describe the break lights and the indicator bulb sizes ? I am planning to replace my bulb's with Led's so thoughts on this would be appreciated, 4 ,12 or 24 Led's !

Hi Dan, don't think they have a part number as such, just a type and wattage. Word of warning though, I know a few chaps have tried them (I think Matt has) and the opinion is that they don't work too well, not as bright as a standard bulb.

Regards, Bruce.

hey

dan, sent you a pm mate  :), as for the stop and tail led's, they dont seem to be as bright as a bulb behind the scorpios lenses, and the indicator ones require a large resistor to stop the car thinking a blub has blown (rapid repeating)

better to replace with these http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/home.php?cat=587

in the stop and tail light section you should see
382 Vision Plus P21W Single filament +50% Philips (pair)

i have these and they are very good,

in the indicator buld section the blubs are silver coated but flash orange, gets rid of the fried egg look in the front indicators and are safe to use in the rears

501 is a type of blub, the side light and foot well and a few others on the car

matt
