Title: Can a Ford 6000 or 6000E cd player be fitted
Post by sherry on Jun 24th, 2007, 9:35am
Hi Guys.

Can someone please let me know if a ford 6000 or 6000e cd player can be fitted to my scorpio. Also if one of them can, will the control at the steering wheel control it.

Many Thanks.

Hi the 6000 single disc stereo was fitted in the later models and yes the steering wheel controls should be perfectly compatible with it.

I cant say about the 6000e, but i had a 6006e 6 disc multichanger (which to me look identical) fitted to my scorp which worked absolutely fine (no more running round to the boot to change discs in the rain :)) But i'm afraid the steering wheel control didnt work and several people have asked whether it was possible but there was never a definitive answer...

Hope this is of some help, Matt

Hi Matt.

Thanks for replying to my post. Your advice helps alot. I am now going to try and get a 6006e from ebay. I like the idea of having the multi-changer in the one unit, which would save the hassle of installing a seperate multi-changer in the boot.

Maybe there will be a solution to the steering wheel control soon.

A small price to pay for a better unit i think.
