Title: Problem whith electric windows
Post by sherry on Jun 24th, 2007, 10:19am
Hi guys.

Can someone please help me with my electric windows. The problem is that when i press the button to go down or up i have to hold it in till it goes rite down or up. I have tried pressing the window down then holding it again for a second then up again and holding for a second. When i do this to the drivers window, should it program all of them.

I believe that the one shot up feature only works on the drivers window, mine does... someone else might know differently...  ???

Depends on the age and spec of the car - old or lowly ones like mine only had one-touch down on the driver's window and nothing else.

Thanks for your replies guys.

I have tried it again with no joy.

I was wondering if the memory function is conected to the same unit as the seats. Remembered that the guy i bouight it from says the memory function for the seat isnt wired up but could be.
He upgraded the interior with elctric heated seats and didnt wire the memory function as it was only him that drove it.

It's entirely possible the car doesn't have the hardware needed for one-touch window operation - wiring up the seat memory also needs a newer CCM to support this.

One touch up and down is only available on the drivers window, probably for safety reasons?
All mine are like this, including a 98 model

V. strange, just checked ours (R reg Ghia X) and we have one shot opening/closing on all 4 windows - at least from drivers door switches, which agrees with what the handbook says  ::)

Handbook does say passenger window as well as drivers window but none of mine do it even after a reset

Mine is a 95 Ultima -

On both the original CCM and a 96 CCM with which I replaced it - I have one touch down on all four windows. I have never been able to get the one touch close to work at all, if it is fitted - though global open and close does work via the key in the lock.

Mine's got a 95/96 CCM fitted but my scorp is very early so doesn't have all the modules needed for global closing and the like - in fact the window wiring is pretty much as for any other car.  I could add the modules and wire them up to the CCM, but being as it also seems to depend on the CCM settings I don't think I'd gain much.  Besides, the back windows are manual anyway!
