Title: Re: lifeless leather interior Post by scorpio_man on Jun 30th, 2007, 6:32pm hi there you could try this.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v521/scorpio_man/scorpio%20bits/leath1.jpg it's doesn't clean, though. if your leather is really worn, there's a paint/dye stuff you can buy to 'restore' it. can't remember it's name, though. |

Title: Re: lifeless leather interior Post by ferretmobile on Jun 30th, 2007, 6:33pm I use Wheelers traditional leather Balm. It comes in jars of 250ml and lasts yonks. It brings all of my leather up to a wonderful shine, It also makes the leather softer. If you do get some , try it on the steering wheel ...you will be amazed at the result. :) Ferret |

Title: Re: lifeless leather interior Post by petehull on Jun 30th, 2007, 10:23pm Most stains can be removed by using white spirit although it's a bit smelly until it evaporates, you can then use a proprietory leather cream as has been mentioned, however I bought some conditioner cream from a saddlers shop, Yes the stuff used for horsey equipment, it contains beeswax and lanolin. I applied it with a soft cloth and afterallowing it to dry in I buffed it up, it worked a treat. About the white spirit method, if you send your leather jacket or sheepskin rugs etc to the "dry" cleaners this is the type of fluid which is used to clean them, it is then re-claimed in a condenser and used again..... hth Pete |

Title: Re: lifeless leather interior Post by TiberiuS on Jul 1st, 2007, 12:09pm Autoglym is great. You can also get Lord Sheraton (sp?) which comes in a little glass jar and contains beeswax etc. Bleedin' expensive compared to Autoglym but works well and smells luvvverly ::) Biggest enemy for a leather interior is sunlight and heat, keeping the car covered with a UV resistant cover would keep most of this off, also prolong the life of the alien blood in the rear view mirror ;) |

Title: Re: lifeless leather interior Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jul 1st, 2007, 3:02pm I got a pack of 'Lord Sheraton' brand wipes from Tesco's for a couple of quid, these work well for a quick spruce up. IKEA also do a leather care kit for 3 or 4 quid which I'm told is very good - contains a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of cream - my wife's friend said it worked wonders on a sofa. |
