Hi Guys,

I am in the middle of replacing my water pump and stat and i dont have a pit so need to get the car off the ground high enough to work under, anybody have a suggeston of how to do this? I'm thinking of axel stands or something similar.

Cheers

I think  axle stands  are fine  for  extra  safety  when    working   on  one wheel for  brakes, suspension,  Etc.,      but   I'd   feel safer with  ramps   for  a complete   front  end   lift.

Buy or borrow some proper Car Ramps. Working under a car can be very dangerous if you don't have the right equipment.

I'd also chock the rear wheels as an extra precaution.

And don't even think about working under there with just a jack.....please !!  :o

Definately a good set of ramps, i lost a friend when he decided to work under car with just a trolley jack.
Please please never just use a jack.
