Title: acceleration juder Post by dan_the_man on Aug 7th, 2007, 11:16am hi folks, durin a 1000 round mile trip to Devon my beloved scorp felt as if someone switched off the ignition for a fraction of a second. this happened at low revs doing 70 a couple of times and under hard acceleration just over a tonne a couple of times also. a friend suggested it could be my auto box . I have the 24v, cheers. |

Title: Re: acceleration juder Post by dan_the_man on Aug 7th, 2007, 4:58pm I never noticed the traction control lighting up. . . as for the coil, do you mean the ignition coil I guess. this may be the drama. I will have the fluid checked real soon , great idea. thanks guys. more suggestions welcome. |

Title: Re: acceleration juder Post by jonnycab on Aug 8th, 2007, 12:16am Yep, I was talking about the ignition coils :) My experience with a bad coil was that the car seemed to 'miss a beat' every now & then, usually while under load, but did it at high cruising speed as well, but never noticed on tickover :) |

Title: Re: acceleration juder Post by Simmo on Aug 8th, 2007, 8:33am Dan, THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/dohcloom.htm) may help as it has, at the bottom of the page, a picture of the sort of damage you could find on a coil pack. That'll keep 'er indoors' busy!. ;D. Mike |

Title: Re: acceleration juder Post by solarpanel on Aug 8th, 2007, 9:27pm the coil pack on the cossie is nothing like the 2.0/2.3 one chaps |

Title: Re: acceleration juder Post by jonnycab on Aug 10th, 2007, 1:35am Even though the coil pack/packs on the Cossie are different to the 2.0/2.3, they still serve the same purpose....to supply a good voltage to the spark plugs :) |
