Title: Tyres Post by Alastair on Aug 28th, 2007, 1:16pm Time approaching (again) for MOT. Need at least 2 new tyres so got prices for 4. According to manufacturer's lists, my car came with either : - 195/65R 15 V or 205/60R 15V (currently 205's). Best Buy Tyres are offering (fully fitted) 195/65R 15V -( 4) £167.52 205/60R 15V - (4) £175.48. Question is which would be better ? and am I right in thinking that the 195's would make the steering slightly lighter. Your thoughts would be appreciated Alastair |

Title: Re: Tyres Post by Scorpio_Mike on Aug 28th, 2007, 1:45pm Personally I'd go for the 205's - bit more tread in contact with the road, wouldn't have thought you'd be able to tell the difference in steering effort with PAS ? |

Title: Re: Tyres Post by SCORPY_NEWBY on Aug 28th, 2007, 1:47pm 195's have a narrower road contact patch so would make the steering a little lighter. 205's have more contact area so will hold the road a little better. They both have a very similar aspect ratio so as to not affect the speedo no matter which you choose and there should be no difference in comfort. Hope this helps. Simon |
