Title: Cured gearbox problem
Post by anthonyultima on Sep 13th, 2007, 3:54pm
Just to let anyone know who have similar problem, I had my gearbox replaced last year but have suffered from a violent thump between 1st and 2nd gear. I cleaned the MAFF etc but to no avail. So decided to change the Air Flow meter completely. Now the car changes very smoothly like new. Only cost £30 from a breakers. Hope this may help someone

How was the MAF broken ?, was one of the tiny wires broken ?....if not, then possibly a fault with the circuitry  :)

i think it was one of the above on mine fault  was found at auto gearbox specialist were it had been repaired eighteen months before i supplied a spare maff which cured the erratic gear changes . and only got charged £20 did not look at the maff before binning it ,
