I have read a lot of posts re the need for regular Oil and Filter changes (every 6,000 miles etc) and not to skimp on the quality of Oil being used (Magnatec ? etc) however, these discussions have all been related to the petrol engine.

Is there any recommendation regarding what type and brand of oil for the 2.5TD Diesel engine.

The engine has done 112,000 and I am a fairly high mileage driver i.e I have put over a thousand miles on the clock this week.

Grateful for any advice from those with diesel experience.
