Title: EGR Valve chirping like a little bird!!

The EGR valve on my 2.5 TD has started chirping like a little bird. Any ideas as it is really annoying? :-/

does it go away when it gets up to temp or run for a few minutes?

im thinking the bearing in the turbo might be dry/faulty,

i dont know what sort of bearing/ oil system the turbos have on the scorpio, if its a float bearng it wil need the oil pressure to be up, whats your oil level like??,

it does sound more like a mechanical problem else where as the EGR is more pressure related being part of the exhaust system, and you would get more of an 'air leak' noise from it

chirping sound to me would indicate that some thing that rotates is running dry or the bearing are failing

Thanks Matt,
I can see that there is some kind of rod moving in and out when you dab the accelerator and the chirping sound comes as the revs drop off or as you are driving along and you change gear and it starts chirping again untill the revs are up. Is there a diaphragm in the EGR that could be flapping? :-/

that sound like the turbo,

then you press the throttal the exhaust pressure is up and spins the turbo fast let go on the throttal and the pressure drops and the turbo slows down, (which would explain why you get it changing gear), the turbo is part of the exhaust system, thats why it may sound like the egr

bearing in mind the turbo spins at many thousands of rpm if the bearing or oil pressure isnt right it can have strange/bad effects

if you could get a video or a sound clip of it, it could help?
