Title: Ignition - Electronic DIS module Post by kanor on Oct 25th, 2007, 6:55pm Hi. On my Scorpio 95' 2.0 16v I do have a missfiring problem. Wiring loom and coil packs are new, but stil problems. http://www.carsoft.ru/avtorepair/sierra/engcntrl20.pdf indicates that my car is equiped with a "Electronic DIS module" but where is this module located on my car ??? |

Title: Re: Ignition - Electronic DIS module Post by kanor on Oct 28th, 2007, 8:35pm Hi there. Thanks for reply. ;) Yes I did change the HT-leads, or more spesific; I reused the connectors, just replaced the wire with a type without resistance but it had no effect on the missfire. ??? I will do some more faultfinding in the coming days now that I know where to find the DIS-module and keep you informed about the progress. |

Title: Re: Ignition - Electronic DIS module Post by Highlander on Oct 28th, 2007, 8:55pm Is your misfire constant or at high or low revs only? Alistair on the forum had a problem with the loom from the EDIS module, might be worth a check. I have a spare working EDIS 4 module which fits the 2.0 and the 2.3 if you want to try it and rule that out Stuart |

Title: Re: Ignition - Electronic DIS module Post by Alastair on Oct 29th, 2007, 8:58am Hi Kanor As Stuart says I recently had the same problem to a much greater degree i.e. tickover for a while then flutter and die. Turned out to be a broken (intermittent) wire between the EDIS and the ECU. Discovered by a diadnostic test as below:- Pin 1 EDIS to Pin 48 PCM (ECU) - black and white A four channel scope Channel 1 EDIS positive - Ignition feed Channel 2 EDIS ground Channel 3 PIP signal Channel 4 Crankshaft Sensor This is the wire that ensures the constant 12 volt supply to the fuel pump. Could be that yours is heading that way. Having been through all that It does seem that your problem i electrical and the EDIS unit probably the culprit. Good luck Alastair |
