when I bought my scorp., over a year ago now. I seem to remember the previous owner had all the windows down and pressed either the key fob of somthing inside the car and got all the windows and sunroof to shut at the same time. I only came to me the other day when I had to close all the windows.....Did I imagine this or is their some way of doing this??? ??? or am I going mad.

you not going mad, it can be done!

lock the car with the key and hold it in the lock or unlock positions to either open or close the windows

:) I'm not mad....I'll try that tomorrow. I never use the key in the door locks. Thanks for saving my sanity 8)

So then what happens is the locks seize due to lack of use then one dark cold wet night when you are visiting someone 300 miles away the remote battery fails and you cant open the car ;)

Use the locks now and again to keep them working, I wish I had a pound for everytime someones posted on the help page with that very problem ;)

Must admit,i thought this was an option on the scorpios.Curiosity got the better of me 5 mins ago so i went out to try it.......Wahey another party trick to add to it,s appeal.Dont suppose there is a secret function for making me a cup of tea when im late for work is there ? ;D ;D

Not much fun for your pooch Bonzer if he has his neck stuck out of the window :-X

BTW, Seriously, I've never tested it, does the Scorp's electric window system have the emergency stop override that will prevent the strangulation of favourite dogs or children.

It can be done via the keyfob but you need a gizmo made by Steve Collister, (Forgive me if I have the wrong name.), Sadly he only made so many and there will be no more made, It also had some other features including Lock on go.
ChrisB on Unleashed had one for sale not so long ago ;)
BTW, It is not for the faint hearted fitting wise mind.

The windows + roof run to open or close in a sequence and which ever way they are going, they only run whilst the key is held to open or close - in other words release the key and they instantly stop.

Our border collie last year managed to work out how to open the windows. She likes her head out in the breeze and would stand with her feet on the arm rest, in the front passenger seat. Unfortunately she hadn't worked out that they can close just as easily and managed to catch the close button with her paw with her head out the window. She had just managed to extricate her head as I came to a stop to rescue her.

Now she stays in the back, with the the lock engaged for the rear window buttons, but still keeps an ear open for the window motors operating when she has her head out in the breeze.

At the moment, she is running round and round the garden in the dark like a lunatic. She wears a tiny LED head torch lamp - keeps her amused for hours :-)

He works with a good mate of mine.... I saw Steve at a wedding a few weeks ago. I have one on my car and it is real fun in the summer!
